Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to design and analyze the helium subsystem within the G&T team for the Transfer Stage Vehicle. You will size components, develop interfaces, and verify assemblies to ensure safe spaceflight operation.

The role requires Creo CAD experience, GD&T, and hands-on knowledge of fluid components such as valves and tubing. A strong communicator with US eligibility is essential for collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
  • 2+ years designing aerospace fluid or mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of gas systems.
  • GD&T proficiency per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with flow, pressure, thermal, and structural analyses of fluid systems.
  • Experience with valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware.
  • Develop and maintain interface definitions between vehicle and subsystems.
  • Strong communication skills; US citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

  • Fluids sub-assembly design and development in CAD (Creo preferred).
  • Analyze custom components for fluid, thermal, and structural applications.
  • Interpreting and generating P&IDs using AutoCAD.
  • Create specifications for fluid/gas components like valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, and instrumentation.
  • Develop and maintain interface definitions between fluid systems and other vehicle subsystems.
  • Perform component trade studies and analyze test data.
  • Collaborate with suppliers or Blue Origin groups to support procurement, fabrication, and installation.
  • Conduct component verification of sourced components to company standards.
