Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced engineer to design and analyze the helium subsystem for the Lunar Vehicle, working under the Gas and Thrusters team. You will manage valves, bottles, filters, sensors, piping and related components, with CAD and P&ID duties, and interact with suppliers for procurement and testing.

The role is based at the Rocket Park Facility in Florida, focusing on ground work and integration of the Transfer Stage Vehicle.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
5+ years experience designing aerospace fluid/mechanical systems.
Experience with 3D CAD (Creo preferred).
Knowledge of gas systems.
GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
Flow and pressure calculations and thermal/structural analysis.
Experience with valves, tubing, pressurized hardware.
Hands-on assembly and testing of pressurized components.
US citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

Fluids sub-assembly design and development, including specifying components, CAD design, trade studies, and analysis of test data.
Generate P&IDs using AutoCAD.
Create specifications for fluid/gas components (valves, manifolds, regulators, vessels).
Maintain interface definitions between fluid systems and other subsystems.
Design and analyze components for fluid, thermal, and structural applications.
Perform verification of components to company standards.
