Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville, AL seeks a fluids design engineer to craft gas systems for the Lunar Transfer Stage spacecraft. You will manage the full life cycle from design through testing and operations, including valves, pumps, heat exchangers, and sensors.

Strong collaboration with suppliers and internal teams is required. The role focuses on gas distribution, storage, and RCS thruster assemblies, with responsibilities spanning component development and verification for spaceflight

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of proven experience in aerospace fluid or mechanical systems design.
• Hands-on experience building and testing mechanical assemblies or pressurized components.
• Proficiency in engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience performing flow and pressure calculations and thermal/structural analyses.

Responsibilities

• Fluids sub-assembly design and development, CAD design, trade studies, procurement, and test data analysis.
• Interpreting and generating P&IDs using AutoCAD.
• Develop and maintain test plans for subsystems and components.
• Define interfaces between fluid systems and other vehicle subsystems.
• Design and analyze components for fluid, thermal, and structural applications.
• Verify components to company standards.
