Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior mechanical engineer for the helium subsystem within the Gas and Thrusters team of the Lunar Permanence unit. You will design, analyze, procure, install, and test helium components for the transfer stage vehicle, collaborating with suppliers and Blue Origin groups to meet cost and schedule goals.

The role requires 5+ years in aerospace fluid or mechanical design, CAD in Creo, and strong data-driven analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 5+ years in aerospace fluid/mechanical design.
• Creo CAD experience.
• Knowledge of gas systems and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience with valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware.

Responsibilities

• Fluids sub-assembly design and development, including drafting specs and procuring components, CAD modeling, trade studies, and test data analysis.
• Develop specifications for fluid/gas components (valves, manifolds, regulators, vessels).
• Maintain interface definitions between fluid systems and other subsystems.
• Design and analyze components for fluid, thermal, and structural performance; verify components per standards.
