Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior engineer to design and analyze helium fluid systems for the Transfer Stage Vehicle. You will size components, select materials, and ensure structural integrity under pressure, vibration, and thermal loads.

Responsibilities include sub-assembly design, CAD work in Creo, P&IDs creation in AutoCAD, and collaboration with suppliers for procurement and testing. A strong background in gas systems is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
  • 2+ years of proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with gas systems.
  • Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience performing flow and pressure calculations as well as structural and thermal analysis of fluid systems.
  • Proven understanding of fluid components such as valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware.
  • Develop and maintain interface definitions between the vehicle and subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Fluids sub-assembly design and development, designing parts and assemblies in CAD (Creo preferred).
  • Analyze custom components for fluid, thermal, and structural applications.
  • Interpreting and generating P&IDs using AutoCAD.
  • Create specifications for fluid/gas components such as valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels.
  • Develop interface definitions between fluid systems and other vehicle subsystems.
  • Perform component trade studies and analyze test data.
  • Collaborate with suppliers or Blue Origin groups to identify components and support procurement, fabrication, and installation.
  • Perform component verification of sourced components to company standards.
