Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state seeks an experienced engineer to lead design, analysis, and testing of the helium subsystem for the Lunar Vehicle. You will manage fluid components, procurement, and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams to ensure safety and performance. The role requires a Bachelor’s in ME or AE, 5+ years in aerospace fluid/mechanical systems, CAD experience (Creo), and strong GD&T and analytic skills.

U.S. citizenship or eligible status is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in the design of aerospace fluid or mechanical systems.
  • Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
  • Knowledge and experience with gas systems.
  • Proficiency in crafting engineering drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience performing flow and pressure calculations as well as structural and thermal analysis of fluid systems.

Responsibilities

  • Fluids sub-assembly design and development, including development of specs and procurement of components, CAD design, trade studies, and analysis of test data.
  • Design and/or create specifications for fluid/gas components such as valves, manifolds, regulators, and instrumentation.
  • Develop and maintain interface definitions between fluid systems and other vehicle subsystems.
  • Design and analyze custom components for fluid, thermal, and structural applications.
  • Perform component verification of sourced components to company standards.
