Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a friendly guest services attendant to assist incoming and departing guests with luggage transport, delivery to guest rooms, and secure storage. You will promote hotel facilities, provide local information, handle guest requests, and coordinate with the front desk and security as needed.

Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and speak fluent English; other languages are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; guest service or hotel experience preferred.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and move about public areas.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and safely transport luggage to and from guest rooms.
• Match claim checks with luggage tags.
• Inform Front Desk Manager or Manager on Duty and Security of lost items.
• Deliver checked items to departing guests in the absence of bell staff.
• Maintain luggage storage room in an orderly manner.
• Explain and promote hotel facilities and local attractions to guests.
• Respond to guest complaints and inform supervisor of major problems.
• Promote teamwork and coordination with other departments.
• Inspect and clear hotel entrance and surrounding areas of litter and debris.
• Handle duties such as accepting dry cleaning and delivering mail or other items to guest rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
