Job summary

Estes Express is seeking an Operations Manager/Service Center Manager to lead clerical staff and oversee a profitable LTL operation. You will set targets, monitor performance, coach staff, and ensure safety, accuracy and on-time payroll processing.

Responsibilities include hiring recommendations, administering the service center business plan, resolving customer issues, and coordinating with payroll, benefits and workers' compensation teams. A strong leader with logistics experience is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor Degree preferred
• 2 years office management / supervisory experience preferred
• Experience in the transportation (LTL) industry required
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor and terminate employees.
• Team building and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
• Excellent planning and organization skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Lead clerical and other employees; set targets, monitor performance, coaching and development
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan; ensure efficient, clean and safe LTL operation
• Involved in hiring and termination processes
• Monitor payroll, employee hours, salary and line haul drivers pay; send to Payroll
• Prepare and submit Payroll Change Notices
• Resolve client issues and advise office staff on customer care
• Coordinate with Corporate Payroll, Benefits and Workers Compensation departments
• Oversee clerical staff across service center locations
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, safety rules and regulations
• Respond to inquiries and meet deadlines
