Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Dock Operations Supervisor to lead dock staff, set targets, monitor performance and develop talent while ensuring a safe and efficient LTL operation with dock planning and scheduling. You will handle paperwork, communicate with customers, drive KPI achievement, and work approximately 50 hours per week including nights and weekends.

Prior management and dock experience in LTL trucking are required, along with clean background checks.

Qualifications

• Must have prior management, dispatch and dock experience.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Must be willing to work 50 hours/week average and able to work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct dock employees; set targets, monitor performance, provide coaching and development.
• Manage and ensure efficient, clean and safe LTL operation including dock planning and schedule setup.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules, and regulatory compliance; participate in hiring/termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan and strive to meet KPIs.
• Oversee paperwork and communications with customers; ensure timely processing of documentation.
