Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a Dock Supervisor to lead and mentor dock staff, ensuring efficient LTL operations and adherence to safety standards. You will manage schedules, equipment and communications with customers while driving KPI results.

The ideal candidate has management, dispatch or dock experience in LTL, strong leadership, and solid communication skills, with availability for 50-hour weeks and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; bachelor’s preferred.
• Strong understanding of LTL trucking industry and paperwork flow.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership to hire, coach, counsel, train and terminate employees.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Good planning and organizational skills; computer skills (AS/400 and MS Office a plus).
• Willing to work 50 hours/week and varied shifts.
• Able to lift ~20 lbs. and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct dock employees; set targets and monitor performance.
• Enforce safety rules and company policies; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Participate in hiring and termination decisions.
• Administer portions of the Terminal Business plan.
• Meet KPI targets and drive performance improvements.
• Coordinate dock scheduling and equipment movement with other supervisors.
