Job summary

Axsome Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a field-based Long-Term Care (LTC) Specialty Account Manager to drive LTC commercial activities for an assigned geography and execute marketing strategies for a successful product launch.

The SAM will act as a disease-state expert, product champion, and account specialist, offering deep knowledge of the local landscape and payer processes. The role requires account management, cross-functional collaboration, and frequent LTC stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience, including 2+ years in LTC or account-based selling environments.
• Launch experience strongly preferred; live within the geography of the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Drive product adoption in LTC facilities.
• Proficient in both virtual and live customer engagements.
• Call on LTC care teams and build relationships across the LTC ecosystem.
• Develop territory business plan including account plans to achieve goals.
• Promote products within labeling in an ethical manner per guidelines.
• Navigate payer policies and access processes (eligibility, prior-authorization, appeals).
• Manage promotional budget and collaborate across corporate functions.
• Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
