Job summary

Carle Health nt7 Digestive Surgical Unit seeks a skilled LPN to join a 43-bed high-acuity team. The role focuses on med administration, IV piggybacks, trach care, and assisting with care plans under RN supervision.

The LPN will collaborate with surgical residents and attendings, perform focused assessments, and support patient care from admission through discharge in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in Illinois.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• LPN with >1 year of experience in acute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids, excluding IV Push meds.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans opened by the RN; assist with new plans as needed.
• Communicates with physicians to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Performs dressing changes, trach care, and NG tube care as needed.
