Job summary

Carle Health is hiring an LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role involves assisting RNs, performing med passes, IV piggybacks, and care for GI surgical patients in a high-acuity setting. Will work with a skilled team on a 43-bed unit in a level trauma center region.

The unit emphasizes safety, education, and collaboration with residents and attendings. BLS required within 30 days; LPN licensure and 1+ year experience preferred.

Qualifications

• LPN license (required).
• BLS within 30 days - AHA.
• 1+ year LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer oral meds and IV piggybacks per RN orders.
• Chart assessments and contribute to care plans.
• Perform dressing changes and trach care as directed.
• Insert and care for NG tube and enteral feedings.
• Care for ostomy and provide discharge education.
• Coordinate care with physicians/APPs to obtain orders.
