Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role supports high-acuity patients with close RN collaboration, including med administration, IV care, and complex wound/ostomy management. You will contribute to care plans and participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with >1 year of experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage IV piggybacks as directed by RN.
• Assist with assessments, care planning and documentation after RN initial assessment.
• Perform trach care, NG tube care and feedings as needed.
• Care for ostomy procedures and wound care.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate patient care.
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
