Job summary

Carle Health seeks an experienced LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit to assist with acutely ill surgical patients. You’ll administer meds, IV piggybacks, and dressing changes, coordinating with RNs on assessments and care plans.

The unit emphasizes high-acuity, team-based care, trauma-capable patients, and ongoing education, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus for external applicants and a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• LPN license required (IL).
• BLS within 30 days - AHA.
• LPN >1yr experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks/fluids (excludes IV Push).
• Charts assessments and care plans after RN initiates the plan.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and care.
• Perform trach care and NG tube care/feeding.
• Care for ostomy and wound care as needed.
• Reinforce discharge instructions to patients.
