Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit in our facility. The role includes medication administration, IV piggybacks, wound care, dressing changes, and collaboration with RNs to support high-acuity surgical patients.

The unit operates with a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio for most patients and offers resources including educators, nurse supervisors, and a dedicated manager to ensure safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• Education: College Diploma in Practical Nursing required.
• Work Experience: LPN >1 year.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks per RN plan.
• Charts assessments and care plans after RN initial assessment.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs to receive orders and perform dressings, NG care and ostomy care.
