Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit in a high-acuity setting. The role involves medication administration, IV support, and close collaboration with RNs and physicians on complex surgical patients.

The LPN will perform care planning, patient assessments, and post-assessment documentation under RN supervision, including dressings, NG/ostomy care, and discharge education. Illinois IDFPR licensure and BLS are required at hire.

Qualifications

• LPN license in good standing (Illinois IDFPR or equivalent).
• BLS certification required or within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• College diploma showing Licensed Practical Nurse is required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and IV piggybacks as directed by the RN.
• Chart assessments and assist with care plans after RN initial assessment.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and care coordination.
• Perform trach care, NG tube care, and ostomy care as needed.
• Educate families and reinforce discharge instructions.
