Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role includes med administration, IV therapies, trach and ostomy care, and collaboration with RNs to manage high-acuity surgical patients.

You will work in a 43-bed unit with a 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio on general floors and 1:3 for advanced care patients. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is available for eligible external applicants.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Illinois and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Experience as LPN with >1 year is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and administers IV piggybacks and fluids as ordered.
• Charts assessments and care plans; collaborate with RN for initial assessments and plan of care.
• Assist with trach care, NG tube care and feedings, ostomy care, and discharge education.
