Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, a 43-bed, high-acuity unit. You will administer meds, assist with IV therapies, care for wounds and tubes, and collaborate with RNs and physicians to plan and execute patient care.

A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants with a 2-year commitment. Responsibilities include charting assessments, updating care plans after RN assessments, and educating patients on discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required; LPN license in Illinois.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids (excludes IV Push meds).
• Chart assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Chart care plans and coordinate with RN for new plans.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs for orders and coordinate care.
• Complete trach care and NG tube care as needed.
• Care for ostomy and reinforce discharge education.
