Job summary

Carle Health seeks an LPN for NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit to support high acuity care. You will participate in medication administration, IVs, wound care, and assist with care plans under RN direction. The role requires coordination with physicians and RNs to ensure safe patient transitions and education at discharge.

The unit handles acute and chronic digestive surgical patients, with a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio and access to unit educators and supervisors. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required.
• BLS within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Education: College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required).

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV Push meds).
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment and notes in care plans.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care for dressing changes as needed.
• Perform trach care, NG tube care and feedings, ostomy care and discharge education reinforcement.
