Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role involves medication administration, IV therapies, wound and ostomy care, and coordination with RNs to support high-acuity surgical patients.

You will participate in care planning after the RN's initial assessment and contribute to patient education and discharge instructions. The unit values teamwork, with a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio for most patients and 1:3 for advanced care.

Qualifications

• LPN with >1 year of experience in acute care settings.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and administers IV piggybacks per RN guidance.
• Charting: initial RN assessments, update care plans as directed.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs for orders and care coordination.
• Perform trach care and NG tube insertions as needed; ostomy care.
• Reinforces discharge instructions and patient education.
