Job summary

Carle Health is hiring an LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role involves medication administration, IV therapies, and collaborative care with RNs and physicians in a high-acuity unit. Compensation includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus and a 1-year commitment.

Unit details: 43-bed NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit with a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio, and a focus on bariatric surgery patients. Active nursing staff and educators support ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Illinois IDFPR license.
• BLS certification within 30 days (American Heart Association).
• 1+ year work experience as LPN.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids as ordered.
• Charts assessments and care plans after the RN's initial assessment.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Performs trach care, NG tube care, ostomy care and dressing changes.
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
