Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role includes administering medications, IV piggybacks, and assisting with complex patient care under RN supervision.

The unit features high acuity and a 43-bed capacity, with a 1:4-6 patient-to-nurse ratio and a focus on comprehensive care for digestive surgical patients, including bariatric and trauma cases. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• LPN license required (Illinois) with BLS within 30 days.
• LPN with >1 year of experience in acute care settings.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids.
• Charts assessments and care plans after RN initial assessment.
• Collaborates with physicians/APPs for orders and care coordination.
• Perform trach care, NG tube insertion/care, ostomy care, and dressing changes.
• Reinforce discharge instructions and patient education.
