Job summary

Carle Health seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit in Springfield, IL. The LPN will support RNs with high-acuity care, administer oral medications and IV piggybacks, and assist with care plans after the RN completes the initial assessment.

The 43-bed NT7 unit focuses on acute and chronic digestive surgical care, offering a collaborative, high‑acuity environment with education resources and leadership support.

Qualifications

LPN license in Illinois (IDFPR) and BLS within 30 days

Responsibilities

Administer meds and IV piggybacks.
Chart assessments after RN initial assessment.
Assist with care plans and dressing changes.
Provide trach care and NG tube care.
Reinforce discharge instructions.
Coordinate care with physicians/APPs.
