Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The role includes med passes, IV piggybacks, wound/NG/ostomy care and collaboration with RNs. A $2,500 sign-on bonus applies to external applicants with a 2-year commitment.

The unit is high-acuity with a 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio and supportive resources, including educators and supervisors. Illinois IDFPR license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• LPN license required (IL)
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• Two or more years of LPN experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks/fluids.
• Charts assessments and care plans after RN initial assessment.
• Coordinate care with physicians/APPs and supervise dressing changes.
• Perform trach care, NG tube care, and ostomy care as needed.
• Reinforce discharge instructions and patient education.
