Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. The LPN will perform medication administration, IV piggyback care, and assist with care planning under RN supervision in a high acuity surgical setting.

Responsibilities include trach care, NG tube management, ostomy care, and patient education. The unit emphasizes teamwork with surgical residents and a strong care-coordination focus.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in good standing.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of LPN work experience.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications and administer IV piggyback fluids per protocol.
• Chart assessments on assigned patients after the RN completes initial assessment.
• Assist with care plans and documentation under RN supervision.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and care during dressing changes.
• Perform trach care, NG tube care and feedings, ostomy care, and discharge education.
