Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit in a full-time role. The unit is 43 beds with high acuity care and close RN collaboration, including trach care, ostomy care, NG feeding and complex dressing changes.

The position offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment; Illinois IDFPR‑licensed LPNs with BLS are preferred and a 1+ year nursing background is expected.

Qualifications

• LPN required with Illinois IDFPR license.
• BLS within 30 days required by AHA.
• Education: College Diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing.
• Work Experience: LPN with >1 year.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications and administers IV piggybacks/fluids as ordered, excluding IV Push meds.
• Charts assessments after RN completes initial assessment and initiates care plan.
• Communicate with physicians/APPs for orders and coordinate care as needed.
• Perform trach care, NG tube care/feeding, ostomy care and dressing changes as required.
