Job summary

The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, CA seeks an experienced Lounge/Outlets Manager to lead daily operations, guest service and staff performance across its upscale dining and beverage venues. You will steward service standards, manage scheduling, and coordinate with chefs and F&B leadership to deliver memorable experiences.

Candidates should have a college degree in hotel/restaurant management, 1–2 years front-of-house F&B management, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• College degree, preferable in hotel and restaurant management.
• Thorough knowledge of service, cost control in F&B, labor controls, menu writing, maintenance, merchandising and accounting
• 1-2 years front of house food and beverage management experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an elegantly appointed environment, with superior staff, dedicated to an attentive, distinctive experience for dining or beverage service.
• Hire, train, supervise and discipline all outlet staff as necessary to insure a smooth operation.
• Maintain a friendly yet unobtrusive manner with all guests.
• Possess a management ability that ensures a successful handling of the lounge.
• Forecast covers and revenues and then schedule accordingly.
• Prepare staff schedule which allow for appropriate service while controlling labor costs and overtime.
• Communicate with other departments to ensure a supporting team of professionals.
• Promote teamwork and foster a harmonious working climate.
• Promote good public relations and handle complaints or concerns of guests.
• Handle inventories and utilize the computer system in ringing, printing and closing checks as well as shift reports.
• Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situations.
• Handle all tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
