Job summary

Burlington Stores is hiring a Shortage Control Associate to help secure the shopping environment while delivering excellent customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, report suspicious activities, and support shortage-reduction initiatives with store leadership.

You will engage with customers and associates in a confident, friendly manner, focus on reducing theft opportunities, and participate in training others on shortage reduction programs.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, or Operations is preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to visually monitor store environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is required
• Ability to review, analyze and comprehend business trends
• Ability to exhibit a positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making
• Excellent communication with customers and co-workers
• Excellent leadership skills that support fostering productive business relationships

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high-risk areas to deter theft and maintain a secure environment
• Greet every customer and create a welcoming atmosphere
• Identify and report theft incidents to Manager on Duty
• Assist in shortage reduction program training for associates
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress standards
• Collaborate with store leadership to reduce opportunities for theft
