Job summary

Knife River Corporation is seeking an experienced Dispatcher to manage orders, schedule drivers, assign equipment, and coordinate with transport partners. The role requires strong data entry, MS Word/Excel proficiency, and excellent communication to keep operations running smoothly.

On-site position based in Stockton, CA, with routine client and vendor interactions. Responsibilities include handling after-hours changes, tracking attendance, and providing administrative support to the Operations

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in customer service, admin, dispatch, or related area.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
• Strong data entry and administrative support skills; proficient with office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Dispatcher receives orders from customers and schedules drivers to deliver product at various locations.
• Assigns equipment and personnel for completion of duties and deliveries.
• Request quotes/prices and receive orders.
• Coordinate equipment moves with transport companies and monitor compliance.
• Keep supervisor and drivers informed to update schedules.
• Track and report time off/attendance of drivers and personnel.
• Answer phones to take/alter orders and complete all required information.
• Communicate effectively and handle after hour and weekend changes.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve issues related to materials, equipment, etc.
• Monitor and communicate upcoming challenges or changes in deliveries/scheduling.
• Suggest improvements to supervisors/managers.
• Ensure work is executed as scheduled and only emergencies interrupt.
• Provide routine administrative support to Operations & Field.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
