Responsibilities

• Dispatch duties: take and process load orders, plan and schedule load/delivery times, call carriers.
• Communicate with the Transportation Manager and other managers about shipping issues on a timely basis.
• Supervise and direct the work of transport and spreader drivers.
• Maintain equipment work orders with Terminal Managers and Maintenance Department.
• Utilize information from Sales for maximum results and post information on delivery tickets for invoicing.
• Assist with 24-hour on-call coverage and week/weekend phone duties.
• Maintain DOT records and driver qualification files; notify about medical cards and CDL expirations.
• Perform routine clerical work and maintain dept records/files.
• May perform additional transportation dept duties such as driver pickups or parts runs.
• Always work safely and prevent unsafe actions.
