Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a dispatch support specialist in California to assist with local and road delivery assignments, freight manifests, and city dispatch coordination. You will work closely with operations teams to ensure timely freight movement and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include maintaining dispatch sheets, handling OS&D issues, and training junior staff while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Knowledgeable in customer care, OS&D, billing, pricing, tracing, dispatching, weights and inspection, etc.
• Computer skills; proficient in MS Word and Excel required.
• AS400 experience strongly preferred.
• Strong customer services skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work without guidance; solve problems using standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Create freight manifest list using applicable coding.
• Assist dispatcher with assigning pick-up and delivery drivers for local and road deliveries.
• Maintain city dispatch sheet and advise drivers on issues encountered in freight pickup/delivery.
• Coordinate Line Haul drivers with service centers to move freight timely.
• Plan dispatches to meet cost and service goals.
• Maintain records to report OS&D freight issues and reconcile discrepancies.
• Provide guidance to less experienced staff and coach on-the-job training when needed.
