Job summary

Expeditors International in the Detroit metro area seeks a Customer Service Agent to identify and understand customer supply chain needs. You will create and process shipping and receiving documentation, process inventory moves, and provide excellent service while liaising with service providers.

You will also input data into the company system, support operations tasks, and assist with clerical duties. A candidate with 6 months to 1 year related experience, strong attendance, and teamwork

Qualifications

• Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• History of excellent attendance practices
• Proven ability to work as part of a team, under high pressure and tight deadline
• Fully proficient with various software applications, preferably with a base knowledge of inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Create and process shipping and receiving documentation
• Process inventory moves
• Assist with clerical duties as needed - reception and security included
• Timely and accurately create all cargo-related reports and send to our customers
• Confirm daily loads are on schedule
• Liaise with service providers to get updates relating to cargo handling, delivery and distribution in an assigned time frame
• Key all related data into the company's system
• Support other product teams in operations tasks as required
• Assist warehouse team with personnel and manifest documentation as needed
• Provide excellent customer service at all times
