Job summary

The American Red Cross is actively seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to oversee transportation, fleet, and related logistics services. This role develops category strategies, leads sourcing, and partners with stakeholders to deliver measurable cost, service, and risk improvements.

Typically headquartered in a US location, the position is remote-friendly and demands strong leadership, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration to support the mission of the Red Cross.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional certification (C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience.
• Experience managing third-party spend within a large organization preferred.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing from strategy through market assessment and implementation.
• Lead negotiations for contracts and pricing, managing risk.
• Identify opportunities to improve total cost, service, efficiency, and risk.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and business requirements; build business cases with stakeholders.
• Define KPIs, service levels, and governance for suppliers; monitor performance.
• Partner with internal clients to align strategies and enable successful implementation.
• Maintain category documentation and provide timely reporting on activities and outcomes.
