Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a friendly Greeter for the Main Lobby area. You will welcome patients and visitors, assist with check-in, wayfinding, and escort where needed to ensure a smooth arrival experience.

You will answer calls, coordinate with security and clinical teams, uphold visitor policies, and help maintain a welcoming lobby environment. A high school education and healthcare exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months healthcare-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors upon arrival at the hospital entrance.
• Complete the standard check-in procedure for patients and visitors.
• Assist in wayfinding and provide patients and visitors with maps.
• Escort patients and visitors to the necessary areas, as needed.
• Answer telephone promptly and courteously; transfer to other departments as needed.
• Maintain communication with unit staff and notify staff at destination when patients arrive.
• Communicate and uphold visitor policy.
• Ensure safety protocols (e.g. visitor badges, mask policies, if required).
• Provide information and answers regarding hospital amenities and guest services.
• Escalate issues to Manager and/or Supervisor.
• Receive and maintain inventory of required supplies for the area.
• Support maintenance of lobby appearance and individual work areas.
• Participate in environmental management.
• Promote a customer service environment for the area.
• Coordinate with security team and medical floors.
• Verify appointment locations and dates for patients in EPIC; confirm patients’ location for visitors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
