Qualifications

• Work requires a high school level of knowledge to prepare reports and keep records.
• Six months of healthcare related experience preferred to become familiar with institutional policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors upon arrival at the hospital entrance, providing a welcoming first impression.
• Completes the standard check-in procedure for patients and visitors.
• Assists in wayfinding and provides patients and visitors with maps.
• Escorts patients and visitors to the necessary areas, as needed.
• Answers telephone promptly and courteously. Transfers to other departments as needed.
• Maintains communication with unit staff and notifies staff at destination when patients arrive.
• Communicates and upholds visitor policy.
• Ensures safety protocols (e.g. visitor badges, mask policies, if required).
• Provides information and answers questions regarding hospital amenities and guest services.
• Escalates issues to Manager and/or Supervisor.
• Receives and maintains inventory of required supplies for the area.
• Supports maintenance of lobby appearance and individual work areas.
• Participates in environmental management.
• Promotes a customer service environment for the area.
• Coordinates and works closely with security team and medical floors.
• Verifies appointment locations and dates for patients in EPIC. Confirms patients’ location for visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
