Job summary

Sun Loan Company is seeking a Loan Specialist to support the branch manager in maintaining a profitable, well-run office through efficient loan processing and regulatory compliance. You will process applications, assemble documents, and ensure accurate records while mitigating risk and supporting collections and pay arrangements.

Responsibilities include contacting customers, handling extensions, and overseeing office operations in the manager's absence.

Qualifications

• 1 year Customer Service experience in any field.
• 6 months Collections experience, a plus.
• High School/GED preferred.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach, contributing to a respectful and productive work environment.
• Excels in building and maintaining strong customer relationships, demonstrating excellent communication, active listening, and persuasive sales techniques to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficient in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with the ability to apply these skills to analyze data and perform calculations accurately.

Responsibilities

• Persuade customers to pay the amount due or arrange payment by phone or mail; explore refinancing options.
• Close loans by explaining all loan requirements clearly.
• Execute collection calls on overdue accounts.
• Use company location services to locate past-due customers.
• Ensure accurate processing of applications; review pending applications and contact prospective customers.
• Grow accounts by selling loans to former and prospective customers.
• Sell ancillary products including taxes, referrals and car club where applicable.
• Maintain all loan documents in accordance with guidelines, federal and state law.
• Prepare copies of financial and legal documents as requested.
• Enter payments into loan management software and keep records up to date.
• Accommodate payment extensions and maintain collection notes on account screens.
