Sun Loan Company is hiring a Loan Specialist to support the branch manager in maintaining a profitable, compliant office. You will process loan applications, assemble documents, and handle all paperwork to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role includes collecting on overdue accounts, growing the loan book with former and new customers, and selling ancillary products. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service experience in any field.
• 6 months collections experience, a plus.
• High School/GED preferred.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a collaborative approach.
• Excels in building and maintaining strong customer relationships with communication and sales skills.
• Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines with attention to detail.
• Proficient in basic math for data analysis and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Persuade customers to pay the amount due or arrange payment by phone or mail.
• Close loans by ensuring all loan requirements are explained.
• Execute collection calls on overdue accounts.
• Use company-provided location services to locate past due customers.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of applications by reviewing pending applications and contacting prospects.
• Grow accounts by selling loans to former and prospective customers.
• Sell ancillary products including taxes, referrals and car club where applicable.
• Maintain all loan documents in accordance with guidelines, federal and state law.
• Prepare copies of financial and legal documents as requested.
• Ensure accurate processing of loans by entering data into the system and keeping records up to date.
• Enter payments into loan management software.
• Accommodate payment extensions and maintain collection notes.
