Job summary

Sun Loan Company is seeking a Loan Specialist to support the branch manager by ensuring efficient loan processing, accurate documentation, and regulatory compliance. You will handle applications, verify paperwork, and maintain quality control to mitigate risk.

You will also contact customers about payments, facilitate extensions when needed, and oversee loan administration in the manager's absence to keep the office productive.

Qualifications

• 1 year customer service experience in any field.
• 6 months collections experience is a plus.
• High School/GED preferred.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and collaborative approach.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and persuasive sales skills.
• Strong organizational skills with multitasking and deadline focus.
• Proficient in basic math for analyzing data and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Persuade customers to pay due amounts or arrange payment by phone or mail.
• Close loans by explaining all loan requirements.
• Make collection calls on overdue accounts.
• Use company provided location services to locate past due customers.
• Ensure timely processing of applications by reviewing pending ones.
• Ensure continual account growth by selling loans to former and prospective customers.
• Sell ancillary products where applicable.
• Maintain all necessary forms and loan documents per guidelines and laws.
• Prepare copies of financial and legal documents as requested.
• Enter payments into loan management software.
• Maintain payment extensions and keep collection notes on account screens.
