Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at our on-site summer camp facilities. You will oversee all prep and production for designated day parts, manage staff, and ensure allergen safety in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.

This seasonal contract runs May through September, with a six-day, 70-hour work week and live-in housing. You will collaborate with camp leadership to deliver scratch-cooked meals that meet dietary restrictions while

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch cooking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date.
• Strong leadership and cooking skills; able to navigate I-Pad; versatile with ingredients; sharp problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to live on-site in a rustic setting and work a demanding 6-day/70-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Operations & Leadership: Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Culinary & Quality Excellence: Operational flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking execution, and timely meal service.
• Allergen & Safety Compliance: Strictly manage food allergy protocols (Kosher, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan, etc.) and maintain top Health Department sanitation standards.
• Administration & Budget: Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting
• Client Relations: Serve as a liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
