Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at a fast-paced summer camp. You will oversee all prep and production for a designated day part, manage staff, and ensure allergen safety across services.

This is an on-site, live-in position with a demanding 6-day/70-hour week in rustic camp settings, May–Sept. Join a dynamic team delivering scratch cooking and high-quality meals for diverse camp communities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch cooking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date; company-sponsored.
• Strong leadership, cooking, able to navigate I-Pad, versatile with ingredients, and sharp problem-solving abilities.
• Physical ability to stand long hours, work in hot/cold kitchen environments, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to live on-site in a rustic setting and meet a demanding 6-day/70-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Oversee operational flow, portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking, and timely meal service.
• Strict allergen and safety compliance; manage Kosher, Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, Vegan protocols and sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Serve as liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
