Job summary

Bird Electric Enterprises is seeking a Lineman Helper to assist with installation and repair of cables in electrical distribution systems. You will gain hands-on experience, climb poles or operate equipment, and work with a crew following strict safety standards. Valid NCCER credentials and 6000 documented hours are preferred.

The job requires physical fitness, the ability to follow directions, and the availability to travel to job sites as needed. 18+ years old and tool readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• 6000 documented hours and proven DOL approved lineman apprentice program participation.
• Working knowledge of the lineman craft.
• Developing knowledge of installation or repair of cables or wires used in electrical power or distribution systems and transmission towers and lines.
• Must be able to understand and follow directions.
• Must have all necessary tools (see Lineman helper tool list).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation or repair of cables or wires in electrical power or distribution systems.
• Erect poles and light or heavy transmission towers where required.
• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, install, test or repair cables.
• Travel to job sites and coordinate with crew as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards to supervisors.
• Climb poles or use buckets to access equipment.
