Job summary

Bird Electric Enterprises is seeking a lineman helper to assist with installation and repair of cables for electrical power and distribution systems. The role may involve erecting poles and working on transmission towers, following plans and industry standards.

You will use hand and power tools, climb poles or use bucket trucks, install grounding devices and splice cables, while maintaining safety and coordinating with the team on job sites.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a lineman or helper in the craft.
• Developing knowledge of installation or repair of cables in electrical power systems.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, install and test cables per plans and specs.
• Climb poles or access equipment using bucket trucks.
• Install grounding devices to remove electrical hazards.
• Splice or join de-energized cables with proper tools.
• Lay underground cable in trenches or through conduits.
