Job summary

Bird Electric Enterprises is seeking a lineman helper to assist in the installation or repair of cables or wires for electrical power or distribution systems. You may erect poles and light or heavy‑duty transmission towers as part of this role.

In this safety‑driven, physical position you will climb poles, use hand and power tools, and work with a team to ensure compliant installations and repairs while following plans, codes, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience working as a lineman or related craft.
• Developing knowledge of installation/repair of cables or wires in electrical power or distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, install, test or repair cables or wires.
• Assist in installing, maintaining, inspecting, testing, and repairing de-energized distribution and transmission systems.
• Attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards.
• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
• Drive vehicles with tools and materials to job sites.
• Identify defective components using diagrams and electrical-testing instruments.
