Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry, including basic paperwork flow.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership including hiring, coaching, counseling, training, mentoring and termination.
• Team building and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead drivers and employees; set targets and monitor performance.
• Ensure efficient, safe LTL operation and dock planning.
• Enforce policies and safety rules.
• Assist in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Meet KPIs and manage linehaul operations efficiency.
• Coordinate drivers and resolve load/customer problems.
• Analyze scheduling and consolidation opportunities.
• Revise driver schedules to cut costs.
• Direct delivery timetables and paperwork handling.
• Oversee equipment assignment and communication with customers.
