Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines is seeking a qualified Operations Supervisor in Phoenix to lead dock staff, set performance targets, and ensure an efficient, compliant LTL operation. You will oversee scheduling, equipment movement, and communication with customers, while maintaining safety standards and adherence to company policies.

The role requires prior management/dock experience in LTL trucking, strong leadership, and excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications

Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.
Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry, including basic paperwork flow preferred.
Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking industry.
Must be knowledgeable of local metropolitan area.
Possess excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
Excellent planning and organization skills.
Must have good computer skills (AS/400 & MS Office a plus).
Must be willing to work 50 hours/week average.

Responsibilities

Lead, guide and direct dock employees; set targets and monitor performance.
Manage efficient, safe LTL operation including dock planning and schedules.
Enforce compliance with company policies, safety rules and regulations; participate in hiring/termination decisions.
Communicate with customers via phone, fax or email and handle related paperwork.
Review and revise schedules to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
