Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Thorough understanding of LTL trucking industry, basic paperwork flow preferred.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required, preferably in LTL trucking.
• Strong leadership, hiring, coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Team-building and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct drivers and employees; set targets and monitor performance.
• Ensure safety rules, company policies, and government regulations are followed.
• Oversee scheduling, dock planning and KPI achievement for an efficient operation.
• Handle hiring and termination processes as needed; participate in service center planning.
• Communicate with customers, drivers and clerks; manage paperwork and timetables.
• Analyze vehicle and driver assignments to optimize cost and efficiency.
