Job summary

Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is seeking an experienced intermediate cook for Seltzer's Diner. You will prepare and plate menu items on a timely basis, maintaining quality and safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

Role requires at least 2 years in hotel/restaurant cooking, ability to work with limited supervision, strong communication, and adherence to recipes. Full-time, on-site position with opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Ability to work without immediate supervision and with others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills and understanding of weights and measures.
• Able to follow recipes.
• Able to work in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
• Able to stand for at least 8 hours per shift.
• Must lift, push, pull and carry moderate weight.
• Able to obtain a valid Food Handler certification upon hire.
• Able to utilize knives and commercial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and to specifications.
• Demonstrate knowledge of culinary fundamentals and techniques.
• Work on outlet hot/cold line and execute menu items in the timeline.
• Stay organized with prep sheets and station guides.
• Use all culinary equipment properly and safely.
• Prepare plate presentations that meet specifications.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Attend required monthly department meetings and trainings.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.
• Able to work a restaurant line.
