Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in downtown Oklahoma City is seeking a Production Cook 1 to support the Executive Chef and ensure efficient operation of the kitchen and food production outlet serving CatBird Seat Pool Bar.

The Production Cook 1 will learn all menu items, prepare items to specifications, and maintain quality and safety standards in a fast-paced hotel kitchen. A sign-on bonus of $250 is offered, with expectations of strong cooking skills and restaurant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years culinary experience in hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Must be able to work efficiently without immediate supervision.
• Familiar with weights and measures to follow and scale recipes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced high pressure environment while executing delegated tasks.
• Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred.
• Food Handlers certification required.
• Must live within 50 miles of the hotel.

Responsibilities

• Learn all menu items produced by assigned station.
• Independently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and to company specifications.
• Identify and inspect all food products for quality.
• Follow all storage procedures for walk-in stock and returns.
• Safely and properly use all culinary equipment.
• Maintain solid cooking skills and techniques.
• Ensure station is set for service 15 minutes prior to service.
• Complete tasks to meet quantities within required time frames.
• Keep walk-in, prep area and equipment compliant with Health Department standards.
• Attend department meetings and training.
• Complete other duties assigned by management.
• Work on an outlet hot/cold line within the specified timeline.
