Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• At least 1 year of experience in a related role.
• Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Indiana ID.
• Basic reading and math skills for recipes and measurements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to prepare a wide variety of foods in a high-volume operation.
• Understanding of sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Learn Ameristar’s room outlets and answer general questions about the property.
• Read food orders from computer printouts and prepare items per established recipes.
• Prepare all items according to standard recipes and menu for consistency.
• Wash, slice, peel, and cut ingredients for cooking or serving.
• Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking using tasting or other methods.
• Ensure procedures, quality standards, and menu specs are followed.
• Coordinate with dining room staff and communicate orders.
